After looking at many inspirational 'upcycled' garments on Etsy lately, I decided to go op-shopping to try my luck at tracking down some ultra-funky vintage fabric. After doing the circuit, I failed to find much more than tacky, gaudy 1980's prints. What I did find, however, was a dress that was much too small for me, in a style that simply did not suit, yet was made of a lovely, lovely fabric - a gorgeous floral cotton/silk blend.
I bought it and chopped it up to make a new head and neck scarf. I love them and they only cost me a total of $5! The neck scarf was one of Amy Butler's free sewing patterns (Sash with Beaded Fringe). Her pattern, however, was wider and longer - I didn't have quite enough fabric.

This is a really cool headscarf I found at St. Vinnie's for $2. Bargain!
Scarfs are just instant sophistication...they are my lipstick. I love this one.
