:: pins & needles - Lego Bag (My Creative Space)

The Lego Bag

I was recently visiting a friend when her husband announced that in his opinion there was nothing worse than stepping on lego (nothing!). He then went on to recount numerous lego-stepping experiences that seemed to have scarred him for life. After listening to his woeful tales I decided to sew him (and his children) a lego bag. We had a lego bag very similar to this in our household when we were growing up. I had planned to make one for my children this Christmas - I figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

These bags are really quite fabulous because they triple up as a storage bag, carry bag and play mat. I used a heavy denim for the outside and starry cotton for the inside. I sewed loops of ribbons around the edges and had my 4 year old daughter thread through the cord. Voila!

  1. That is quite possibly THE MOST FABULOUS thing I have ever seen!

    Now I want one.

  2. I think this is a marketable item.

  3. What a great idea. We could use something like that too (lots of lego-stepping-stories to tell here also) :-)

  4. i LOVE it - have an old set of curtains that are now itching to be a lego bag! If only 3yo would put it away as i cannot bend down that far!

I vouch for the lego stepping as the 2nd worst ever ... Only trumped by the slightly more yuck tale of "STOMPING" on an old brown avocado leaf in the orchard, and finding it was indeed a dog poo.

  5. That's a great idea! It will make cleaning all the lego up much easier!

  6. Vow!!! This is fantastic idea!!!
    Wishes from Crete!

  7. That is a groovy lego bag. Much nicer than my shabby one. Ours ended up too heavy with too much lego and broke the door handle. :( Your stitching looks beautiful.

  8. Lego must be the best toy in the whole world. If I ever make a storage bag/mat like this I think I would use a grass green coloured fabric for the inside, because I love to build houses and make gardens :)

I had a quick look through your other posts - love all the sewing. Now following! :)

  9. Quite possibly the most attractive lego bag anyone has ever made. I could wear that down to the shops! Lovely :)

  10. Really it is a nice blog, I would like to tell you that you have given me much knowledge about lego bag. These bags are looking really quite beautiful. Thanks for everything.

  11. Wow ! What a nice post it is ! Thanks for sharing this post . For details lego storage bin .
