Leaping into Spring!

I decided some time ago that Spring & Summer 2009/10 will see a transition into skirt & dress wearing. I've spent way too much time in shorts and pants of late and have decided to celebrate my feminine side. So this weekend, I tried my second dress pattern - New Look 6778.

I'm really quite happy with the way it turned out. I think the two fabrics look great together and the addition of the pockets from New Look 6700 give it a nice lift. I would normally have jumped right into cutting out a size 14, but my friend only just finished sewing this dress in size 8 and it fit me perfectly. Too scared to cut out an 8 though, I settled on a 10 - it is a touch baggy so I probably should have gone with the 8. Oh well, next time - and there will be a next time!
