This post sees me celebrating my very first 'flounce'. I was only very recently introduced to the term 'flounce' after mistakenly referring to it as a ruffle - who knew? Anyway, not only do I like saying the word 'flounce' (go on say it!) but I think I could develop quite an obsession with these little babies and start attaching them at random to everything! Adding a flounce does seem to instantly dress-it-up!
This is the chopped-off version of this dress. It is made with a really light cotton I picked up on the clearance rack of my local fabric shop. It's got a cute little stripe through it but is a wee bit see-through, hence the flounce!
I did find hemming the flounce a bit tricky as it does curve around the bias, but despite one dodgy mini-section, it all ran pretty smoothly.
NOTE: I really must apologise about my bad model poses - this is one part to blogging that I don't think I'll ever get used to. UNCOMFORTABLE!!
This turned out really well...looks great, love the colour
