I was really happy with the way this pencil roll turned out as it was completely unplanned and made exclusively with bits from my scrap basket. My husband is hopeless when it comes to birthdays and mostly announces them a week or more after the event. So there I was trying to rack my brains for a birthday idea when I came up with this. As it happens, it has a lovely Asian-inspired look about it and is my favourite one to date (excluding the one my sister gave me for my birthday, of course!).
